Information

We value the diversity, talent, and dedication of our community members and are committed to maintaining a high standard of professionalism and integrity on our platform. As part of our ongoing efforts to ensure this remains true, we have identified a pressing issue that requires our collective attention.

It has recently come to our attention that a growing number of individuals have been misusing the portfolio feature. This includes creating spam portfolios, using copyrighted material without permissions, and displaying content that does not uphold the values and principles of Contently's marketplace. This not only undermines the hard work of genuine freelancers but also devalues the reputation and trustworthiness of our community. In light of these concerns, effective November 20th, 2023, all portfolios that are not approved by Contently will no longer be public-facing by default.

What does this mean for your portfolio?

Here's what you need to know:

  1. Approval Process
  2. How do I know if I'm already approved?
  3. Re-submit for Approval for a Public Portfolio

Approval Process

To have your portfolio visible to the public and potential Contently customers, you will need to be approved by the Creative Marketplace team. This process is designed to review the authenticity, originality, quality, and appropriateness of your content.

The Creative Marketplace team will carefully review all submissions every Monday morning and provide a response regarding the approval status of your portfolio.

Please note that the Creative Marketplace team is solely responsible for portfolio approvals. The support team has no involvement or influence in this process.

All the necessary guidelines for obtaining portfolio approval can be found in this document. We strongly encourage you to review this article to ensure your portfolio meets the platform's standards.

How do I know if I'm already approved?

If you are already working with our clients, your portfolio will remain visible to the public.

There are other concrete ways to know if you are approved and will remain visible to the public by looking at your portfolio:

1. If you see that your portfolio URL is blue (see image below) you are visible to the public. Grey indicates that you are not.

2. If you see a badge that reads "Website Live" in green you are visible to the public:

Conversely, a badge that reads "Pending Approval" in grey indicates that you are not visible to the public:

3. If you are visible to the public you will have the "Available to Work" setting at the top of your portfolio:

4. If you are visible to the public you will have the "View as" setting at the top of your portfolio:

Re-submit for Approval for a Public Portfolio

Freelancers can submit their portfolio for review at any time using the provided form. Reviews take place every Monday morning, where the Creative Marketplace team will assess all submissions and provide approval updates.

  • Please remember that the support team does not have any role in the approval process. Only the Creative Marketplace team is responsible for reviewing and approving portfolios.

We appreciate your patience as the Creative Marketplace team carefully reviews all submissions. Rest assured, all your portfolio content remains accessible, even if it is not publicly visible.

Our goal remains to provide a platform where your skills, dedication, and creativity are showcased in the best possible light, and to offer Contently customers a trusted environment to find the services they need.
