Managing Your Email Notifications in Contently

Overview

This article explains how to manage your email notifications in Contently. You’ll learn how to customize which notifications you receive, helping you stay updated on important tasks without overwhelming your inbox.

Information

Contently sends email notifications to keep you informed about updates, tasks, and progress within your content workflows. However, not all notifications may be relevant to you, and you can customize which ones you receive to focus on the most important updates. Managing your email notifications ensures that you stay on top of your responsibilities without being overwhelmed by excessive alerts.

Here’s how to manage your email notifications in Contently:

Step 1: Accessing email notification settings

  • Click on your avatar in the top right corner of the Contently dashboard to open the user menu.
  • Select "Account Settings" from the dropdown menu.
  • In the "Account Settings" page, navigate to the "Notifications" tab.

Step 2: Customizing your notifications

  • In the "Notifications" tab, you’ll see a list of different types of email notifications that Contently sends, including updates on content progress, workflow steps, comments, and general platform notifications.
  • To customize, check or uncheck the boxes next to each type of notification. You can choose to receive notifications for:
    • New content assignments
    • Comments on stories or assets
    • Workflow step completion
    • Story approvals or rejections
    • General platform updates
  • Once you’ve selected your preferred notifications, click "Save" to apply the changes.

Step 3: Adjusting notifications over time

  • It’s a good idea to leave most notifications on when you first start using Contently, to familiarize yourself with how the platform works.
  • As you get more comfortable, you can adjust the settings to reduce the number of notifications and focus only on the ones that are most relevant to your role.
  • If your responsibilities or workflows change, revisit your notification settings and adjust them as needed to stay informed on the most critical updates.

Step 4: Unsubscribing from general platform updates

  • If you no longer want to receive general platform updates (such as product releases or system notifications), scroll to the "Platform Notifications" section and uncheck the corresponding box.
  • This will stop notifications unrelated to your specific tasks or workflows, helping to declutter your inbox.

By customizing your email notifications, you can ensure that you stay updated on the most relevant information while minimizing unnecessary alerts. This helps you stay focused on your tasks and improves workflow efficiency.
