Overview
Information
To start your journey as a contributor on Contently, the first step is to create a strong portfolio. Your portfolio is essentially your virtual business card. Here’s how to set it up effectively:
- A Comprehensive Bio: Your bio should give an insightful overview of your expertise. Use this section to introduce yourself and highlight the key skills you offer potential clients. Think of it as your chance to make a strong first impression.
- Projects and Clients: Include at least 10 projects from 3 different clients. This variety will demonstrate your experience and versatility as a contributor. Clients value seeing a range of work that reflects your skill set.
- Clips: Add at least 3 clips to your portfolio, each tagged with relevant topics and skills. This step ensures that clients searching for specific content or expertise can easily find your portfolio.
- Availability for Work: Mark yourself as "Available for Work" in your portfolio settings. This visibility lets potential clients know when you are ready to take on new projects.
Once your portfolio is complete, the talent team will begin the review process. For more information about the approval process and form links, please check the Portfolio Visibility: Private vs Public KB Article.
Once your portfolio is approved, you’ll receive an email with a link to a short tutorial about using the Contently platform. Completing this tutorial ensures your training is logged in the system, which helps surface your portfolio to clients.
When a client is interested in working with you, you’ll get an email invitation. This will include details about the client and the type of work they are looking for. Simply click the "Get Started" button in the email to join the client's team.
